Hey! I'm Chris Michaels. I grew up in Jacksonville, FL. All my life I wanted to be in radio, it was something I wanted to do since I was a little kid. I use to stay up late at night and listen to the night guy on the radio. I would call in all the time to see if he would put me on the air. Stalker maybe? I guess you could say that. I remember being 12 years old and after calling the night guy every night, he finally invited me to come hang out with him at the radio station for a night...So my mom bought him a 12 pack of beer and to the station we went. That's when I fell in love hard core and said this is it...this is what I'm going to do with my life. I finally got my start at that very same radio station (WAPE 95.1) in Jacksonville, FL at the age of 17 in the promotions department. I was the guy who set up all the equipment for the DJ's when they broadcasted live from an event. I moved out of the promotions department after a few months, and got my big break on the air as a on-air personality. From there it all took off.

 

I am married to Rachel, who I met in Jacksonville, FL. We have been together for quite a while, but married for over 4 years now. I've been blessed not only with my career, but with a great woman who believes in me, and stands by my side every step of the way as I chase my dreams. We also have a beautiful son Logan who is already over a year old. He brings a lot of joy to our life, and is the funniest kid ever. I'll give him a few more years before I put him to work here at the radio station. We moved here to Mobile in August of 2008 so that I could take on the Afternoon show for 97-5 WABB. I am also the Program Director for WABB. It's a dream come true to work at a heritage, well respected and loved radio station such as 97-5 WABB. We are like a family here...I look forward to coming to work everyday. Rachel and I REALLY love it here in Mobile. The food is great, people are so friendly, it's close the beach, and there is always something going on. We are always looking for something new to do around town, so please email me and let me know some cool places to visit, and restaurants to eat at.

 

We have 3 animals (two dogs, and a cat.) Both of us are HUGE animal lovers and they are spoiled. Sometimes I think the dogs get more attention than me...ok let me correct that statement, they ALWAYS get more attention than me. Lexi and Bella are the two dogs, and Felix is literally the coolest cat in the world with a killer personality.
