My name is Rachel “Blondie” Jones, I was born in Mobile and have lived here my whole life. Growing up I’ve always listened to WABB and I always thought that it would be awesome to work here. I’ve always known that I’ve wanted to be in the communications field, and starting my career with WABB has been a huge step for me. I am truly thankful to have my position here at the station. I’m completely right brained, and full of energy. Music and dance have played a huge role in my life. It is a part of my inspiration and without it, it would be hard to tell a story of who I am. I’ve never been afraid to go up to people and talk to them or introduce myself to strangers. I actually love having a variety of friends. Other than working at WABB, I am also a dance teacher and make up artist.

So where did the name Blondie come from? I’ve actually been called Blondie my whole life just by being in the dance studio. But the name stuck when I was 17 years old. Everyone new me as the short, blonde, chick and never could remember my name. Since then I’ve been introduced as Blondie!

T.V. Shows: I am obsessed with VH1 reality shows! American Pickers, Pawn Stars, The Glades,  American Idol, The View, Letterman, The Soup, Tosh.0 and RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Movies: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Back to the Future, Pretty in Pink, Sixth Sense, Big Daddy, Elf, Planet Earth, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.??Favorite Actors: Denzel Washington, George Clooney and I want to marry Shia LaBeouf.
 
Favorite Actresses: Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz.
 
Favorite Comedians: Dane Cook, Kat Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Craig Robinson??Favorite Restaurants: Wintzells, El Rancho, Stix.
 
Places to shop: Charlotte Russe, dELiAs, Wet Seal, Forever21, Buckle.

Guilty Pleasure: horoscopes, Antiques Roadshow on PBS, and hunting for UFO’s.

Dislikes: cigarettes, mayonnaise, crocs, horror movies, onions, humidity, math, bluetooth phones, NASCAR, when people smack their food, the “king” in the Burger King commercials, and documentaries.
 
Likes: Mardi Gras, chocolate, shoes, fireworks, the ocean, animals, spray on tans, sushi, hummus, working out, painting, guitar hero, YouTube, and beach volleyball.
 
Other facts: I’m not the best speller, I can do an impression of Chewbacca and I’ve auditioned for 3 reality shows- So You Think You Can Dance (twice) America’s Next Top Model Cycle 13, and MTV The Real World.
