This group is a part of the National Fibromyalgia Association. It is a non-profit group that meets once a month to offer hope and support and answer questions for those suffering with this debilitating condition. We meet the second Tuesday of every month in the front conference room at the Thomas Medical Center in Daphne. The meetings begin at 10:30. At this time we are trying very diligently just to get the word out to people because there are so many people suffering with this condition and many of them have no answers/help on ways to improve. As of now, the group members have been requesting various speakers that they would like to hear from and each meeting we plan to have a speaker come and talk about drug free alternatives to finding relief and regaining their life. Furthermore, it is estimated that about 10 million Americans suffer with Fibromyalgia meaning that many people right here in our area have this condition and have little or no options other than numerous medications which only help them to "get by" but often do not allow them to function normally and live their life as they once did. We are the only NFA Support group in the area, the closest one being around Birmingham. Its just very difficult to get the word out to people. We really feel that if we could do an interview (such as the one we did on 93BLX) on multiple stations we could reach a wide variety of people who may have this condition or know someone who does. If you need any more information or have any further questsions, feel free to reply to this email (hullhouse@gulftel.com) or call me at home 251.964.7118. Thanks again for your willingness to help! I'm looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
